Annnnd it has begun!
Hey there,
I have finally started my new school year. Pre-kindergarten believe it or not is a completely different world from Kindergarten. My kids are hilarious, they can't sit still and their attention span....well.... Besides that, it's a blast! They are such sweet human beings, so loving and joyful. :-D I can't wait to share the funny stories and the sweet things they say! I'll post pictures of my room soon!

Men only!
This summer I have been tutoring students in reading and math. I decided to get a library card to my city public library. I am sure the clerks don't know what to think, I mean I have no children with me when I check out and I usually check out about 10 books at a time. The levels of the text range from K to 3 grade, oh and then my murder mystery books by James Patterson. I am sure they think I'm a weirdo! Anyways I had an embarrassing moment at my latest trip the library. I was coming in from a late lunch with friends where I drank an ungodly amount if H2O, I had to use the restroom so badly. I rushed into the bathroom looking straight ahead, there was one other person in the bathroom I looked, but didn't really look. I turned to my right, wow, they must have urnals in case a mom brings their little boy in right? I look up and realize the other person was about 30 years old and definitely male, I laughed so hard and so did he. Embarrassed doesn't even bein to describe it! I think I have officially given the clerks another reason to think I'm a weirdo as their station area is located right by the restroom...😳 They saw everything!!!!

Special Delivery...
So, the other night Mikey and I were about worthless for dinner so we decided to order take out. I called in an order of fried rice and egg drop soup to our favorite Chinese place "Fresh Wok" I should have seen the foreshadowing... It took about 10 minute to place to order, the voice on the other line was one that I did not recognize, new hire (sad when I know the workers)...Any ways, apparently Chesapeake is hard to spell? At one point he thought I was saying Chelsea Street. An hour passed and still no food. We tried calling, no answer, they are usually pretty busy. Mikey decided to just drive up there. As soon as he left of course the delivery boy shows up. I answer the door and stepped out side, he apologizes over and over again. I assured him it was not a big deal. As I begin to open the door guess who runs out to greet a terrified delivery boy???? NOLAN! The boy was running around our yard as Nolan chased him, clearly he just wanted to play. I assured the delivery boy, "he will only bite you if I tell him too!" No lie, the boy screams. It wasn't too long until Nolan saw the boys car door was open, Nolan bolted and jumped right in. At this point I am hysterically laughing. The boy did not think it was too funny. After about five minutes I was finally able to get my crazy pup out of the car. I guess that will teach them to be 40 minutes over their ETA! Ha!

Yummy!
A fond childhood memory I have is going to visit my dad where ever he was stationed at the time. Places my sister and I visited him included; California, Hawaii, Michigan and Virginia. We spent countless hours at amusement parks, water parks, museums and the beach. I even remember the occacional "double feature" at the movies. For those of you that don't know what that means it's probably best that you don't. I guess you could say it's similar to BOGO at a shoe store... Any ways the fondest memories I have of my dad was the time we spent in the kitchen. He could take anything and I mean anything and make it into an amazing dish! I like to think my culinary talents come from him and my creativeness from my mother. All of that to say, last night I found myself cooking dinner with not a lot to work with. The grocery store was not an option, this whole one paycheck a month is killing me. FYI teachers get paid monthy, the last working day of the month in most cases. Scrambling to pull off something I created a master piece. Ingredients included: whole wheat pasta, zucchini, squash, mushrooms, onions, Roma tomatoes, lemon, talapia, garlic salt, olive oil and Catalina dressing. I guess you could say I had a "dad" moment...

Good news!!!
I finally finished my homework for the week, now it all starts over tomorrow! On another note we have been working on training Nolan , our dog, to stay inside the house while we are gone instead of outside... We went to church and lunch this morning/afternoon and we were gone for four hours. I am proud to say our house was intact when we returned. In fact, Nolan was asleep on the couch when we walked in the front door. What a sweet pup! Don't be mislead however, this has been a process of trial and error and I have lost my fair share of shoes, phone chargers, picture frames and other items during this process. The goal is to be able to leave him the whole day when I return to the classroom this coming fall, fingers crossed for success!
